A Pillow Case For Mildred

Mildred is my step-mother whom over the years has become quite near and dear to me.  It finally dawned on me that she dragged a special pillow with her every place she traveled, because she has terrible back pain, and needs her own pillow.  The problem was the pillow case was so blah.  And she is so special.  Always has some special outfit on, and she is very petite and has her hair done every single Saturday unless she is quite ill; and she isn't ill that often.

Mildred works for a couple of charities, and she works hard.  I love her for that, and I love her for taking such good care of my father, all the final years of his life.  The last years weren't fun.  He was losing he touch with reality, and she was basically on her own with him in Florida while I was working to support my  daughter
Rebecca, the light of my life.  She really worked hard and no one ever really knew how hard until she had a huge heart attack of her own.  Poor thing, she is OK now, but she sure deserves my love, thanks, and prayers.  As well as a pretty cover for her special pillow...  She does love it, too.

Click on 'View My Complete Profile'

Being a more or less computer idiot, who after 10 years or more on the internet, using my mac laptops - I am on my second after recently bringing my first, not even done with its' AppleCare contract, to a sad death (they hate being dropped from high places, even once, and this one was, unfortunately dropped, and squashed... still can't do much more than turn it on and off and stick CDs or DVDs in the right place, well, I am not going to try to install the link to get my www.VerveEarth.com link's widget one more time.

Now I have become very clever doing all sorts of things with my MacBookPro, with the Leopard OS, as it is made for idiots.  As are all things Mac.  They don't even come with real manuals, but tiny little 81 pg. booklets.  My style.  And iPods don't have real instructions to speak of at all.

Well to stop rambling, a specialty of mine, I made a real mess of finding my new password which I needed for this widget, and Google would not let me into my own Blog.  I was pretty clever, I thought, and just whipped up a new one, thinking I could just import all three years of posts to the new one.  Oh just giggle yourself silly, it was and remains a ridiculous thought, and it didn't work.  So I created a second false new front page for my old Blogspot, and if you want to read the many entries, just click on 'VIEW MY COMPLETE PROFILE', located under the boring information under my name.  If you do, you will find yourself in an information area, and find four Blogs, all entitled An Artists' Life.  And they are my entries since September 2005.

And in the meanwhile, when I feel brave enough to admit I am this stupid, I will cry out to the wonderful technical support at www.VerveEarth.com for help in getting my widget.  Blessings and have a great and happy day to you all.
Forgot to mention, this little monket is Ziggy the piggy, our French Bulldog puppy, now just about exactly four months old.  She is going through a growth period and is trying to turn into a soccer ball.  She is so funny looking here, dressed in the twins sized 0-3 months baby clothes, which darling Rebecca let me keep out of the hand me down basket.  My doll has been wearing them for nearly 4 years, and I never imagined so many
people would start laughing when they saw the little angel all dressed up in the freezing weather.  Our vet did say it kept her warmer than those silly sweaters that they make for dogs, leaving 3/4 of them all bare.  Ziggy has only been outside this whole winter to go to the vet, and drive home with us on January 13, Rebeccas'  birthday, when she was 9 weeks old.  More Ziggy stories to follow.  Again, goodnight, or good morning, depending on your location or insomnia...

And how could I forget to mention, the love of my live, Max, Maxie Boy, and finally, Madd Maxx Attacks, the handsome (a mothers' true love), the 12 year Pug, born on January 1st 12 years ago in the back seat of his mamas' car (turns out the frigid cold negated the need for a c-section, was born.  His name was Goliath, but heck, he was always a cupcake.

And one last anecdote:  Baya once asked me why I was calling her Nanas' little cupcake, and I told her it was because she was just like a cupcake, sweet and little, and she looked up at me with the sweetest (of course) look on her face, and said "Aw, my little nana"...  we have special bonds, my granddaughters, and doggies, and paint brushes.

It is the real adult world that shakes me up.

Lose a Blog, Start a Blog

Rebecca -my wonderful, perfect and most excellent daughter, and Nathaniel, ditto, on their wedding day.  This August 30th will be their 10th anniversary.

Below is Nathaniels' sister Leah Miriam, and her husband Matt, both our dear friends, awaiting the birth of their second child, now, Maxwell Emerson Meserve.  Their daughter Magdelena Eve Meserse (notice a pattern developing?) just turned 2 and is a very smart and adorable child who calls me 'Nana Faye'  My grandchild Esme wants to also call me that, but I explain to her over and over that she must be honored that I only have two real grandchildren, and little Maggie is my honorable grandchild.  Or honorable auntie, or something... she is a wonderful beam of light in this world, whatever she calls me.  I

have been messing around for hours on this happy little Mac and I am ready to grit my teeth like my twin grand daughters do, who are one month away from 4 years old. They sound like they chew on mouthfuls of rocks when they sleep. My (dentist) husband says it is normal, and so I just patted their curly sweet smelling hair which reminds me heaven, somehow.

I lost a gazilion posts, but nothing really new. So it's back to work, and a lot of photographs and videos, fun, fun, fun. Here are a bunch of short posts and pictures of artwork, Baya and Esme, my granddaughters (I can't believe all the old stuff which would have explained the current stuff, gone, gone, gone). And of course, the dog children.  Baya is on the left and Esme on the right.  Above, when they were little puppies, and could not crawl, even the order was reversed...

And then if I remain in an awake mode, throw in a video or two. They seem to take awhile to upload. But then again, Blogger seems to work way better than when I deserted it a year or so ago, when life became too realistic to continue posting.  Now i am more balanced, re-found my humor, and wish to share again. Since I am so honest, I cannot write unless I am at least in a semi- good state of mind.

Welcome back, and if you enjoy what you're seeing and reading, please pass along this URL, and definitely do find me at VerveEarth.com, a new website which geographically searches the net, and 'found' and invited my to list my blog with them. I feel so honored, and I would love you to check them out; it is a fascinating site, and I have spend hours there, lost in some of the most fascinating sites I have ever seen. I am flabbergasted I have been chosen to be listed among them.

Just as an example, a hat maker.  The hats remind me (and are supposed to) of bunnies, puppies, and all sorts of whimsical things.  I wanted all of them, and would wear all of them too.  Also, a wonderful magazine of pages of many artists.  I am cross-eyed from spending so much time trying to investigate blogs, as well as find the widget for my blog to make connecting easy.  For the time being, I will explain how to find my little blog at VerveEarth.com later.

Over and out - and blessings and happiness to all, Faye-Merrill
